The first step in your "best body" journey is to know your body.
I'm not a tall, "leggy" girl, but I feel quite certain I would be just darling at it! The truth is, even when I take a deep breath, hold it in and stand up really straight, I am just under five feet, four inches tall. So even in my highest heels, I will never be a Cindy Crawford, and I am 100% okay with that. My goal is not to be Cindy Crawford. My goal is to be me, only better.
When setting goals for yourself, it is important to know YOUR body. Ideally, improving your appearance is about letting your true self shine through, it’s not about fitting a society standard. Keep this in mind, this is not about being better than someone else, this is about being your best you. Comparison is a thief. Don’t let it rob you of the joy of being beautiful!
So, how do you set realistic goals for yourself?
In my last Beauty Talk post, I challenged you to ask yourself the question: "If I could change or improve any part of myself, what would it be?" How did you answer that question? Would you mind if I jumped back to Cindy Crawford analogy for a minute? If I were to say I wanted to change my height, would that be a goal worth setting for myself? The answer is undoubtedly no. However, if I said I wanted to be able to change how I view myself and I wanted to improve my self confidence level, that is a realistic goal I can work toward.
It is natural to take a look in the mirror and think about how you might change your body. Maybe you want to look great for that reunion or beach vacation. Or maybe you just want to love the reflection you see in the mirror and be able to walk into a room with self confidence. Whatever your goal, make sure it is realistic and make sure it is about YOU.
Now that you have a goal, how do you go about achieving it?
