Infused Water - The Fancy Way to Stay Hydrated!

It is summertime in Texas y'all, and it's HOT!

We all know the key to staying gorgeous in this heat is to stay hydrated, but if you're anything like me, you may be having trouble meeting your daily water intake requirements. They say the general rule of thumb is to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water for each pound you weigh, every day. I don't know about you, but I have always had a hard time making myself drink that amount of water. That was until I discovered infused water. Before, I rarely drank enough. Now, I can’t get enough!

Here at Cosmetic Laser Center we like to welcome our patients with a refreshing glass of what I call "fancy water". We even put little umbrellas in them! Over-the-top? Maybe, but we like to make our patients feel special! I've always been a coffee drinker, but after trying one of those pretty glasses of infused water, I have to say, I'm hooked!

Making infused water is a lot easier than you think. Just pick out your fruit, vegetable and herbs and slice them into large pieces. Place your fancy combination in the bottom of a pitcher and fill the pitcher with water. For best results, let the water sit in the refrigerator overnight. It allows the fruits, vegetables, and herbs to release the vitamins, minerals, and flavor into the water. Although there are so many different varieties of infused water, the combinations listed below are my favorite ones. Try some of them out and I am sure you will agree! (If all else fails, just stop by CLC, we will make you a "fancy water"... we will even put a tiny umbrella in it for you!)

Strawberry & Cucumber:

Strawberries help to reduce inflammation and Cucumbers can help lower cholesterol and flush out toxins.

Cucumber, Mint & Ginger:

Great to drink before a workout. The ginger will heat you up just enough to cause a sweat detox.

Cherries, Apples & Pineapple:

This combo is great for after your workout. The cherries help reduce muscle pain.

Strawberries & Basil:

Packed full of vitamin C this infused water idea will keep your immune system a boost.

Lime & Honeydew:

These ingredients will help repair injured tissue and replenish skin cells.

Watermelon & Rosemary:

This combo will replace electrolytes quickly.

Lemon, Lime & Oranges:

A great combination to enjoy in the morning. Very energizing.

Drink up beautiful, water makes you pretty! 💋
