At Cosmetic Laser Center, we provide top-of-the-line Botox Cosmetic or Xeomin injections that temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines look better in adults.
How do Botox & Xeomin injections work?
Wrinkles such as worry lines, laugh lines, neck lines, crow’s feet and neck bands are caused by muscles under the skin contracting when we laugh, smile or express emotions facially. Both Xeomin and Botox consist of the same basic ingredient – Botulinum toxin A. This neurotoxin acts by blocking the neuromuscular junction and has an effect on the skin and muscles it is injected into. Botox and Xeomin are effective because they work on the root of the cause, the muscles. Botox and Xeomin injections temporarily weaken the skin’s muscles, reducing its ability to contract. No contractions mean no wrinkles, and skin smoother, tighter and wrinkle-free skin.
What can you expect during treatment?
- When you visit Cosmetic Laser Center our master injector will customize your Botox Cosmetic or Xeomin injections by determining the amount and location of the injections you will need to meet your specific aesthetic goal.
- During treatments, a series of small shots are injected into the targeted muscles. A precise amount of product is carefully placed into each site for maximum, lasting results. The entire procedure takes 10-15 minutes and you will be able to return to your normal activities immediately.
- A topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin to minimize discomfort during your appointment. Some patients receiving Botox Cosmetic or Xeomin injections report the injections feel like a pinch.
- You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines in adults.
Other common questions about Botox & Xeomin:
Q. What is the difference between Botox Cosmetic & Xeomin?
Botox and Xeomin are two types of injectable neurotoxins (forms of botulinum toxin type A) that have been approved by the FDA for minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. The main difference between Botox and Xeomin has to do with the formulation. Xeomin is a “naked” neurotoxin. That is, Xeomin contains only a single ingredient (botulinum toxin A), while the formulation of Botox includes various protective proteins clustered around the active molecule. At Cosmetic Laser Center we offer Botox Cosmetic as well as Xeomin because it's our job as aesthetic professionals to be familiar with the alternatives out there, so we can determine which is the best option for specific patients. Our experienced injector will analyze your current facial characteristics and health history to determine the best course of treatment given your desired end result.
Q. Will my face look overdone or unnatural?
Botox and Xeomin are technique-sensitive treatments and deliver subtle results when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. At Cosmetic Laser Center all injections are performed by Texas licensed nurse injector, so you’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable lines. No one should be able to tell you’ve had anything done.
Q. How much do Botox or Xeomin injections cost?
Your Botox or Xeomin treatment cost is hard to estimate until you attend your first consultation. The dosage and extent of treatment will vary from one individual to another.
Q. When will I see results?
You will begin to feel the effects 2-7 days after the treatment. The longevity of Botox and Xeomin depends on three main things: your metabolism, your muscle strength and how active those muscles are. Some people will metabolize the product very quickly and will therefore need injections more often. Similarly, the stronger your muscles are, the more product you will need. Muscles we use frequently, such as the ones around the mouth and eyes, are more active and will need to be injected more frequently. Typically, results last a few months. Because these neuromodulators are temporary, it is best to come in every 3-4 months to maintain optimal results. Do not wait until it completely wears off, since there is a synergistic effect.
